Social Committee

We have many social days each year all of which are enhanced by having food & drink available for everyone.  The days vary from competing for club trophies, 4 in total, to fun days where we have a Captain’s team v President’s team and a Ladies v Gents match two very enjoyable ‘club bowling days’.  No matter which social event is taking place every member is encouraged to put their name down and join in - whatever their bowling experience.  Each social day is a very good fun way for members to mix socially and play bowls with and against club members of all abilities.

The committee is always keen to receive suggestions from members for new events. One example of this has been the introduction of the now very popular early season club triples competition.  This lets those who want to, to practice early in the season to help them get back into the swing of bowling in a fun and friendly way.

As always notice of these and all events are on the website and on the notice boards where members can put their name down to join in.

We hold raffles, run football cards, or play the penny to a pound game to win a ‘bottle’  on social days so always having a couple of £1 coins in your bowls bag is very useful!

A Presentation Dinner Dance is put on by the social committee out of season (usually in November).  We meet up in a local hostelry and have an enjoyable evening together over a three course dinner with the presentation of trophies & prizes to the winners that season. The evening concludes with many dancing the night away … well up to midnight!
