What a tremendous turn out of sixty players for our opening game on Saturday 19th April.

President Tim, accompanied by Captains Inger and Roy, welcomed our new members onto the green nine played and a further fourteen were mentioned.

We welcomed the happy return to Egham of four previous members and to fourteen rejoining after taking up the reduced first time membership fee of last season.

Many of our new members were encouraged to try outdoors after joining indoors during the winter season being regularly coached by Trevor and Jan Hoy, thank you both for the many hours you spent with them, we really hope they enjoy playing on grass as much as they did on carpet. A healthy membership, yes, but our door is always open to welcome, more.

We now have three families across three generations of The Davies/Jenkins, Vizer's/Vizer Allen's and the Rose's just keep providing extra buds.

Of course like every club we remembered those no longer with us but never to be forgotten, their time with us cherished.

After the welcoming formalities Mike told us our teams and rink destiniations some having a rest session to accomodate everyone, some call it floating others call it flirting !

With all the cards distributed it was time for the customary spider, or yesterday renamed the Easter Bunny, our two winners were Ian & Julia, hope you enjoyed your chocolate egg surprise.

The obligatory fire drill was conducted and when we had been all accounted for and after returning to the green an easter egg hunt commenced, we think they had all found by the end of play. One of younger members sniffed out five.

What a lovely surprise we had when two past members appeared, Bob and Debbie Tiller, here on a stop off trip from their new home in Australia they know where to come to be amongst friends.

Our match winners returned a winning score of plus ten well done to team, Margaret, Ian, Julia and James

Foggy's provided a much welcomed after match meal of Sausages, mash, onion gravy and peas, thank you. For those wanting a Sunday roast book your place with Foggy's for Sunday 27th April.

During the afternoon raffle tickets, bonus ball numbers and a special easter cake raffle tickets were sold with monies going into club funds, thank you all for your wonderful support. The two lovely cakes were baked by Stuart and Sonja, they looked fantastic, thank you both.

The evening was rounded off with drinks being supplied as they had been all afternoon by Lisa, behind the bar, thank you Lisa you are always there to serve our thirsts with such aplomb.

It's lovely to see the gazebo's lit up open leaving the club they certainly endorse the welcoming, warming feeling the outdoor club strives to deliver.

And so to Sunday, albeit quieter, with the sun out again there were some very keen members (18) back out on the green getting fresh air, exercise and of course company. It may have been a wee bit inconvenient but a solution was found as the photo shows.
