Gaskin Triples

Despite a day of mixed weather, spirits remained high as 48 members turned out for the Gaskin Triples Trophy, this year held on Bank Holiday Monday, 26th May.

The competition followed a rotating format, with each of the 16 triples playing three sessions of six ends and sitting out for one. across for tightly contested sessions the rinks were alive with the sound of friendly banter, good humoured rivalry and maybe a few moments of bowling brilliance!

While the inclement weather threatened to disrupt our bowling at times, it did little to dampen the enjoyment or the determination of our players. Members showed sportsmanship throughout the afternoon and laughter frequently rang out across the rinks, a true reflection of the outdoor club's enduring camaraderie.

With such a large turnout and competitive spirit, the final result was closely fought. Congratulations to Brian Vizer, Gary Carr and Pauline Clark who return the winning card. Amelia Rose (one of our new, very young bowlers) and Graham Wallage were the lucky winners of the Spider.

After the final bowls were delivered, players and spectators made their way into the clubhouse for a well-earned meal. A hearty serving of shepherds pie - perfect for the chilly weather - was much enjoyed. The celebrations didn't end there, as many stayed on to relax, socialise, and enjoy drinks from the bar with background music adding to the warm, cheerful atmosphere.

It was a very enjoyable day of bowls, food and friendship, capped off with the kind of clubhouse buzz that makes Social and Trophy Days so special.

A big thank you goes to all who participated, supported and helped organise another successful and enjoyable club event.
